Beautiful Branding: Union Jacks

Posted by pixellogo on May 7, 2012 in Design & Style

Saying that Union Jacks -a new restaurant by celebrity chef Jaime Oliver- has a beautiful corporate identity is practically an oxymoron, considering their whole concept revolves around the no-brand. British agency The Plant was in charge of the project and the result is an eclectic and vibrant look, that mixes and matches different elements inspired by 70's concert posters. The identity itself lacks of any consistency as far as visual elements go, the variety of it all is what makes it oh so different than what we're used to when it comes to classical branding. From the menus to the beer coast

Posted by pixellogo on April 23, 2012 in Design & Style

Ritmia is a music-therapy consult ran by Celia Castillo. Her work is based on the effect that music has on her patients, mainly how they affect their mood and treating them from this angle. Catalan agency Atipus was in charge of the branding project and they took as their inspiration the very basis of Castillo's work: music. The main challenge they encountered was to make an original visual identity based on music but without falling in the classic stereotypes. The basis they worked on relies on the basic shapes of the waves that sounds make, the different shapes that influence the patients

Sankara is a new five star luxury hotel in Nairobi that has a matching corporate identity. Glazer studio was in charge of the branding process and the results are simply beautiful. Taking African inspiration, they created a consistent brand that is also unique. Their intention for the visual projection of the hotel had to be approachable internationally, so taking the African influences literally wasn't their way to go. Instead they came up with a beautiful solution: from a zebra's lines pattern the brandmark was created. The symbol on its own is already beautiful, combining both elegance a
