Graphic design news: Liechtenstein votes for their new logo

The small Principality of Liechtenstein is currently having a voting contest to choose the country's new visual identity. Every citizen over 14 years old is allowed to choose between five proposals that were made by agencies from all over Europe. The basic guidelines of the logos are based on the national's colours -red and blue- and some of them refer to the royalty condition of the nation using dashes of gold. Hipsters are taking over the design world. We've seen their style overtake the design trends with their retro looks, mostly vintage lettering, use of western inspired ornaments and diverse 'dorky' elements such as nerd glasses or old school moustaches (probably the most recognizable feature of a hipster). Predicting the future of famous logos

The folks at Stocklogos have come up with a list of the possible future of famous logos and it's actually pretty funny what they've imagined (that Gap chronology made me chuckle). The evolution of these brands can be seen across the times and as some of them have taken more subtle changes others have gone a whole different route but one thing that they have in common is that simplicity is taking over the evolution of logos (pretend or not).   (isn't the 2020 logo a bit too similar to the one released earlier this year?)

Back in the early days of the Internet, Internet Explorer was the go-to browser for most people on the Internet. According to w3 schools, 83% of Internet users used Internet Explorer in November 2002. In recent years however, other browsers have emerged that have started to slowly chip away at Microsoft’s Internet domination. In view of the upcoming elections to the United States Senate this November, the Democrats of the United States announced their new logo design last week. The new logo was designed by SS+K, a New York-based marketing and communications agency. Here it is... This is the first time the Democrats have rebranded themselves since Bill Clinton's presidency.
