Creating 3D Superman Logo
Superman Logo coat of arms logo has been designed and redesigned over the years, and the design has been evolving, some better than others, but the diamond with the letter "S" in it has stayed consistent. We have always been big fans of the Superman Symbol and the 3D logo. We wanted to create our version of the coat of arms and create it in 3D. These are the results of our project. Our first objective was to separate the "S" from the Diamond frame instead of being one piece. We liked the idea of the S to push the diamond frame outwards and give the frame a little bend or curve. We have textured and applied materials that are used on the costume.
Since the "S" was a separate element from the diamond frame, we gave both the "S" and the frame special and separate attention. We designed the "S" in a much more inflated look than previous 3D Superman logo designs. We had no pre-requisite or limitation on how we should design, so we gave ourselves plenty of freedom to create in our own style. The chiseled "S" look was not the first time that it was designed that way, but our version looks quite different from the past designs. The frame has its own design characteristics as well, but not so different from the "S." These two elements work together very well.
