The latest Encyclopedia Britannica core definition of typography is that ‘typography is concerned with the determination of the appearance of the printed page’. Dictionaries such as Collins English Dictionary define typography as ‘the art, craft or process of composing type and printing from it’. Designers who love the art of typography tend to be obsessed with every cap and x-height, every descender and ascender, serif or sans-serif. I just recently got myself an iPad, and one of the first things I did was go on a hunt to find some incredible high-res images that would compliment the screen resolution and color capabilities of my new toy.
